SARAH GRIFFIN DIES AFTER STROKE Life Resident of Rock Island County Succumbs at Age 80 Mrs. Sarah Griffin, 80 years old, a life resident of Rock Island county, died following a stroke of apoplexy at 2:45 o’clock this morning in her home on Forty-first street south of Twenty-third avenue, South Moline. She had been ill seven weeks. Mrs. Griffin was born in South Moline April 11, 1851. She was married to Asbury C. Griffin in Hampton township Dec. 20, 1868. Surviving are the widower, four daughters, Mrs. Effie Park, Mrs. Blanche Ferry and Mrs. Goldie Beckstrom of Moline and Mrs. Grace Koppe of San Jose, Calif.; four sons, Joseph and Milton of Moline, Asbury, Jr., of Viola, and Bert of Peoria; a sister, Mrs. Nora Bustard of Moline, and a brother, Noah Smith of Atlantic, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon in the residence and at 2:30 o’clock in Bowlesburg church. Rev. W. A. Tillberg, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, Moline, will officiate. Burial will be in Bowlesburg cemetery.
