W. C. Zabloudil of Preston, Jackson County coroner, after an investigation of the fatality, ruled it an "accidental death" and said no inquest will be held. Coroner Zabloudil said Miller was traveling north in his panel truck and was crossing Highway 64 in Preston when a semi-trailer truck operated by James Murphy, 38, of Savanna, Ill., struck the rear of the Miller vehicle. Murphy, who escaped injury, was driving east on the highway, the coroner stated. The panel truck whirled around and Miller was thrown out and struck his head on a tree, Zabloudil declared. The Rock Island man died instantly of a fractured skull, the coroner said. The body was taken to the Krabbenhof Funeral Home in Preston and then removed to the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island Friday Services Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Moline Gospel Temple, with the Rev. Charles L. Hoilis, pastor, officiating. Friends may call at the Hodgson Funeral Home after noon tomorrow until noon Friday, when the body will be taken to the church. Miller was born March 15, 1931 in Mt. Sterling. He was a son of Thomas and Sarah Miller, He had lived in the Quad-City area for 11 years, nine of which he lived in Rock Island. He married Georgetta Huggins July 29, 1950, in Rock Island. For the past five years he was a truck driver for Jaydon Distributors Inc., Moline Surving are the widow and a son, Steven; his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Ralp D.
