He had been ill since Monday. Mr Morgan was employed as a switchman on the Rock Island Railroad. He was born in Canada on April 9, 1868. He married Ida Croxford twenty-seven years ago in New Mexico. He came to Moline from Colorado in 1911. Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Ida May and Ellen Jean Morgan at home, and two sons, David of Moline and Charles of Chicago. One son preceded him in death. The body was removed to Esterdahl chapel pending funeral arrangements. Additional Comments: Moline Dispatch 04/25/1931 Funeral services for Joseph Morgan, 63 years old, of 514 First Street, Moline, a resident of Moline and a switchman on the Rock Island railroad for the last twenty years, who died Thursday, will be held at 3 tomorrow afternoon in the residence. The body was removed from Esterdahl chapel to the home this afternoon. Mr. Morgan was widely known in railroad circles in the Quad Cities. The Rev. W. R. Hodgson, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
