He was born January 30, 1925 in Rapid City, Illinois. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy and served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a retired San Francisco police officer of 27 years. The highlight of his career was serving as a mounted officer in Golden Gate Park. Preceding him in death was his son Gary. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, MaryLou, 3 sons, 2 daughters, 3 daughter-in-laws, 2 son-in-laws and 11 grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Friday October 1, 2010, 12:00pm at Callaghan Mortuary, 3833 East Avenue, Livermore, Ca.
