Osborn Mrs. Sarah A. Osborn, 84, a resident of Rock Island about forty years, died at 5:45 o’clock this morning in a local hospital. She had been confined in the hospital since May 31, 1931. Her father, the late Gregory Brown, and her late husband’s father were among those who founded the village of Osborn, Ill. Mrs. Osborn, the former Miss Sarah Brown, was born in Osborn, Ill., Jan 29, 1856, and was reared and educated in that community. She was married to George H. Osborn when she was 20 years old. The couple resided about five years in Kansas and Missouri and 40 years in Rock Island. Mr. Osborn formerly was affiliated with Broadway Presbyterian church. Surviving are a son, Frederick Osborn of Rock Island; two brothers, Winfield Scott Brown of Geneseo and John H. Brown of Moline; two sisters, Miss Nettie Brown of Osborn and Tennie in Minneapolis, and two grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death. The body was taken to the A. J. D. Moeller mortuary. Funeral services will be at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the residence of the son, Frederick, 944 Eighteenth avenue, Rock Island. The Rev. H. F. C. Wetzel, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran church, will officiate. Burial will be in Barstow cemetery.
