"NATIVE OF CITY DIES IN WRECK
Harry Reed, United States Marines, Killed in San Diego; Born in Rock Island.
    Harry Reed of the United States Marine corps, a native of Rock Island, and 
formerly a resident of Aledo, Ill., was killed in a train wreck at San Diego, 
Calif., according to work received in rock Island today.  No details of the 
accident were given.
  Mr. Reed was the son of Mrs. Riley Miller of Millersburg, Ill.  He attended 
school in Millersburg and Aledo, leaving two years ago for Portland, Ore.  He 
enlisted in the marines in Portland.  A year ago, he visited friends in Aledo.
   Surviving are the mother and a sister, Mrs. Josephine Anderson of Portland, 
Ore." 

Additional Comments:
His father was Arthur John Reed & his mother was Myrtle Johanna Jack Reed 
Miller of Mercer County, Illinois.  Harry Reed was only 20 years old at his 
death.  Siblings were Frances L., Frank L., Albert, Josephine A., and Roy 
William Patrick O'Donald Reed.
