Smith, 731 10th St., Rock Island, died at 12:27 this morning in St. Anthony’s Hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. The Rev. Charles L. Hollis, pastor of the Moline Gospel Temple, will officiate. Additional services will be held at the Park Rounds Funeral Home, Mount Sterling, Ill. on Saturday. Burial will be in City Cemetery, Mount Sterling. Friends may call after 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Hodgson Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 1, 1900 in Meredosia, Ill., daughter of William and Harriet McDaniel. She was reared and received her education there. She had been a resident of Rock Island for the past 22 years. She was married to Thomas Miller July 16, 1920, in Mount Sterling. He died July 30, 1929. She was married to Ralph Smith Aug. 1, 1940 in Palmyra, Mo. He died June 17, 1964. She was a member of the Moline Gospel Temple. Surviving are two sons, Robert Miller and Lawrence Smith, both of Rock Island; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hunter of Rock Island and Mrs. Alberta Brown of Moline; three brothers, Andrew McDaniel, a twin brother, of Meredosia, James McDaniel of Bluffs, Ill., and Howard McDaniel of Quincy, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Earl Floyd of Jacksonville, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. She was precedd in death by her two husbands, an infant daughter, two sons, two sisters and a brother.
