C. VanderVennett, Active Church Worker, Passes Away At Age 52. (Special Moline Service.) Mrs. Elodie VanderVennett, 52 years old, wife of A. C. VanderVennett, prominent Moline clothier, died at 9 o’clock last night at her home, 1404 Sixteenth avenue, Moline. Death terminated an illness of five months and followed a minor operation last July and a major operation in November. She was born in Belgium, Aug. 18, 1877, and came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Hamerlinck, 40 years ago. The family settled in Moline and Mrs. VanderVennett had since resided there. She was married July 5, 1895 to A. C. VanderVennett in Moline. Mrs. VanderVennett was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart church, Moline, and was active in the affairs of the Altar and Rosary societies of the parish. She was also affiliated with the Daughters of Isabella and Vincent DePaul society. Surviving are the widower, two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Holmes of Moline and Clara M., at home; a son, Harry of Moline; two brothers, Henry and Julius Hamerlinck, Milan; her mother Mrs. Julia Hamerlinck, Moline; Three grandchildren, Nathalie and Arthur Holmes and Kenneth VanderVennett. The rosary will be recited in Sacred Heart church, Moline, at 7:30 o’clock tomorrow evening. Requiem high mass will be said at 9 o’clock Saturday morning in Sacred Heart church with Rev. J. B. Culemans officiating, assisted by Rev. Leo Sterck and Rev. J. E. McClain. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery, East Moline.
