Born December 30, 1878, in New York. Entered service June 27, 1916, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Lincoln, Springfield, and Camp Logan, Houston, Texas. Sailed overseas in June, 1918. In action at St. Mihiel, Argonne Forest and Meuse-Argonne. Was in Brouch, Luxemburg, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged June 5, 1919, at Camp Grant.
