Born March 29, 1895, in Sweetwater, Ill. Entered service March 15, 1918. Received his training at Ft. McKinley and Ft. Williams, Portland, Me. Sailed overseas October 7, 1918, on the H. M. S. Euripedes. Was at Ft. Montligno, France, when the Armistice war signed. Discharged February 10, 1919, at Camp Grant.
