Entered service December 12, 1917, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed overseas June 30, 1918, on the Mauretania. Was in Camp at Stockbridge Hunts, England. Was in London, England, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged April 9, 1919, at Camp Grant.
