Son of Andrew Angell, 709 East North Grand avenue, Springfield. Born February 1, 1900, in Rushville, Ill. Entered service February 6, 1917, in Springfield. Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Station, U. S. S. Missouri and the U. S. S. Von Steuben. Sailed overseas seventeen times. Was in New York, N. Y., when the Armistice was signed. Discharged October 16, 1919, at Great Lakes.
