S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Bacchus, 823 South Fourth street, Springfield. Born August 21, 1891, in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. Address, 517 West Allen street, Springfield. Entered service March 26, 1917, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Southwick, Camp Logan, Texas, and Officers' Training Camp at Leon Springs, Texas. Sailed overseas in March, 1918, on the Huron and Kroonlnnd. Trained further at Saumur Artillery School, France. In action in the Meuse-Argonne and Soissons. Was in Romagne, Meuse-Argonne, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged July 29, 1919, at Camp Grant, Illinois.
