S. A. Son of E. O. and Isabelle Bailey, 417 South New street, Springfield. Born December 21, 1892, in Decatur. Entered service July 9, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Taylor. Sailed overseas September 8, 1918, on the Mallory. Was stationed at Brest, Tours and St. Aignon Noyers, France. In March, 1919, was sent to Antwerp, Belgium, and was clerk in the chief Surgeon's office. Discharged July 8, 1919.
