S. A. Son of Thomas J. and Annie W. Baird of Lakota, N. Dak. Born May 17, 1887, in Springfield, Ill. Entered service February 7, 1917, in Springfield. Received his training at Chanute Field, Rantoul, Illinois. Was in St. Paul, Minn., when the Armistice was signed. Discharged December 19, 1918, at St. Paul, Minn.
