Entered the service July 7, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Johnston, Florida; Camp Merritt, N. J. Sailed overseas August 28, 1918, on the Corona. In action in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, St. Mihiel Drive and Soissons. Was in Toul, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged September 18, 1919, at Camp Grant, Illinois.
