Entered service May 27, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Gordon, Ga., Camp Merritt, New Jersey. Sailed overseas July 23, 1918. In action in the St. Mihiel drive and the Meuse-Argonne offensive. Was in Vichy, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged September 27, 1919, at Campl Grant, Ill.
