Richard KLUGE, 77, of the Drake Hotel died at 4:40 pm yesterday at St. John's Hospital of injuries recieved at 12:20 am yesterday, when he was struck by a car at Fifth and Jefferson Streets. His death was the sixth traffic fatality of 1950 in Sangamon County. Police said that Mr. Kluge was struck by a car driven by John E.CARRIGAN, of 2116 S. Fifth St., as he was crossing the intersection. He was taken to the hospital in the police ambulance and was found to be suffering severe chest injuries and a fracture of the right leg. Coroner W.L.DRAGOO will conduct and inquest later. Mr. KLUGE, who was retired, is survived by four sons, Albert, Detroit Michigan; Richard Jr., Herman, and Daniel, all of Springfield; four daughters, Mrs. Freida PLEMISCHER, Mrs. Anna BROWN, Mrs Ella NOVICK and Mrs. Ruth FORD all of Springfield; 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Remains were taken to Bisch Memorial Home.
