Deceased was struck by a fall of coal and slate. He was taken to St. John’s hospital, Springfield, for treatment. November 16th he was removed from the hospital to his relatives in Glen Carbon, Madison county. His skull was fractured, and an operation was performed on him at Glen Carbon, but he died November 17, 1899.
