Gov. Bissell

Gov. William H. Bissell of Illinois, died at Springfield, on the 18th of March,
1860. His funeral services were performed according to the usage of the Roman
Catholic church, in which the family of the deceased usually worshiped. It is
said that the Governor was not a member of the Catholic church, but that his
lady is. The Catholic clergy claim him , however.
