Insanity Leads to Suicide

Fred G. Smith committed suicide at the St. Nicholas Hotel in Springfield. He 
had not left his room for two days and had taken no nourishment. He blew his 
brains out with a revolver. He was a well known young business man of 
Springfield and a member of the firm of Smith & Co., wholesale notions. A note 
addressed to his father, Fred Smith, stated that insanity had prompted him to 
commit the deed.
