This gravestone was set 28 May, 2006 by the descendants of Mary Anne Polly 
Brown Waterman Burgess at Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Sangamon Co. IL.  Mary Anne 
is my great-great-grandmother. Her unmarked grave was found in 2006 and this 
stone was set to honor her memory. It is located in Section A-355.
The stone is engraved:
Mary Anne Brown Waterman Burgess
15 Aug 1821--25 Mar 1899

Additional Comments:
Mary Anne Brown was born in Clark Co. KY, migrated to IL in childhood, married 
Charles C. Waterman at Mechanicsburg on 3 Dec. 1842. She is the mother of 5 
daughters and 3 sons. Charles died 1 July 1861 and Mary Anne remarried in 1864 
to R. T. Burgess of Mechanicsburg. They had one son in 1865.
