JAMES SLOAN OBIT From Obituaries for the year of 1893 The Rushville Times Rushville, Schuyler County, Illinois March 2, 1893 JAMES SLOAN, an old and successful farmer residing 3 ½ miles east of Littleton, died last Saturday morning after a long illness. He was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1821; came to America in 1844, locating in Gibson County, Indiana, where he was married to ELIZABETH A. HUMPHREYS in 1846. In 1849 he came to Illinois, locating near Littleton, and in December of that year he joined the Baptist Church in that place, the meeting being conducted by Rev. Pickard, who conducted his funeral serviced on Monday. He leaves a wife and seven grown children, five sons and two daughters---MRS. GEO. MONTOOTH and MRS. J. C. GARRISON. During the past ten years MR.
