Stanberry   21 January 1953, Mowequa (IL) News   Mrs. Mattie A. Stanbery, quietly passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Howse, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.   Mrs. Stanbery, a native of Alabama, has lived most of her life in Shelby County and also many years near Moweaqua.   In October, Moweaqua celebrated its Centennial, and Mrs. Stanbery, who celebrated her 100th birthday, Dec. 9, was asked to reign over our Centennial as the Queen of the celebration.  She very sweetly consented and was very much thrilled with this honor bestowed upon her.  She, with other older natives of Moweaqua, rode on the Centennial Float and this day was one that will be remembered for years to come.   Her husband passed away August 22, 1917, and one son and a daughter preceded her in death.   Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Howse of Moweaqua, with whom she made her home.  Mrs. Senia Sides of Rector, Ark., and on son, Dr. A. R. Stanbery of Vandalia.  Also eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  Also a host of other relatives and friends.   Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday Jan. 22, in the Little Flock church, Rev. Fred Gordon will be in charge.  Burial will be in the Little Flock cemetery.   Friends may call at the Stine Funeral Home.   From Jan 20, 1953-- Mrs. Mattie A. Stanberry, queen of last fall's Moweaqua centennial celebration who observed her 100th birthday Dec. 9, died at 10:30 a.m. today.   A native of Alabama and the widow of William Stanberry, she died here in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Howse.   She leaves another daughter, Mrs. Hillard Sides of Rector, Ark., and a step-son, Dr. A. R.
