Dyer Organized at Mattoon, Ill., and mustered in for 100 days June 6, 1864. Moved to Benton Barracks, Mo., June 10. Assigned to guard duty on Iron Mountain R.R. at the Gasconade and Osage crossings of the Missouri Pacific R.R., and at Jefferson City, Mo. Mustered out September 28, 1864. Regiment lost 2 Enlisted men killed and 17 Enlisted men by disease during service.
