St. Louis, IL) (George) Scott Campbell, a painter employed by the Terminal Railroad Association, was burned to crisp this afternoon in a weed fire along the railroad tracks near the Cotton Compress in the South End. Campbell laid down after dinner for a sleep. It is thought that a spark from a passing engine fired the weeds. Before Campbell awakened his clothing was almost burned from his body. He was taken to St. Mary's hospital where Dr. C. F. Wilhelmj pronounced his burns probably fatal. Campbell lives at Ninth Street and Valentine Avenue. Additional Comments: Married to Emma Kassell.
