MEINTS DIES HERE AT AGE OF 71 Widow of Former Postmaster Succumbs Early Today Mrs. Elizabeth Bowen Meints, 71, of 527 Washington Place, widow of the late Albert E. Meints, former postmaster of East St. Louis and realtor, died at 3:30 a.m. today in her home. She had been in ill health the past three years. Mrs. Meints was born in Effingham and had lived in East St. Louis 60 years. She was the past president of the Excelsior club, a member of the First Presbyterian church, and one of the early members of the Y. W. C. A. The old Meints family home was at Ninth street and Ohio avenue, where the Beulah club now is locate. Daughters Survive Mrs. Meints is survived by seven daughters Mrs Mildred E. Sexton, Mrs. Edna Pace, Mrs. Esther G. Hampton, Mrs. Eugenia B. McClinton, Mrs. Katherine Lucas, Mrs. Alberta Ropiequet, and Mrs. Clara J. Stockenberg; four sisters Mrs. Katherine White of East St. Louis,, Mrs. Mary Nulsen of Dunham N. B., Mrs. Margaret Bates and Mrs. Daisy Fraser both of Los Angles. Calif., and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
