EGAN IS DEAD AT 82 Word has been received of the death and burial of John Timothy Egan, 82, a former East St. Louis resident, who died in a Kansas City, Mo., hospital last Wednesday. burial was Saturday in Kansas City. A native East St. Louisan, Mr. Egan left the city for Kansas City in 1920 and had lived there since. he was a former Morse code operator for the old Postal Telegraph Co. He started work there when he was 15 and switched to the Western Union Co. in the National Stock yards area when the companies merged. Mr. Egan, who retired in 1945, was a member of the Commercial Telegraphers Union.
