"March 4, Hirman Hotchkiss, Winslow, born Vermont 1808, came to Lena 1855."

In Loving Remembrance of
Hiram Hotchkiss,
Died Mar. 4, 1896
Aged 87 Yrs., 2 Mos, 15 Days.
A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our hearts,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love has given.
And though the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in heaven.

Additional Comments:
Hiram Hotchkiss was born in Georgia rural town, Franklin Co., VT, son of James 
HOTCHKISS and Alice STORY.  He married his first cousin, Bethiah McEwen BUCK, a 
daughter of Nathan BUCK and Mary "Polly" STORY of Fairfax, Franklin Co., VT.  
He is buried in Lena Community Cemetery.
