PEKIN DAILY TIMES, PEKIN, ILLINOIS - March 2, 1982 SEIDE JANSSEN - MASON CITY - Rev. Seide Janssen, 76, of 617 E. Chestnut Street, a Baptist minister for 43 years, died at 12:01 a.m. today, March 2, 1982, the anniversary of his birth, in Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Assembly of God Church, Mason City. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Wallace, Rev. Morgan Davis and Rev. Howard Thomure. Interment will be in Mason City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cain Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to "Lost and Found Department" a gospel group at Belleville. Rev. Janssen had served as a minister at Glasford, Sparland, Tuscola, Highland, Belleville, Sterling, Alpha, Orion, Easton and Mason City. A son of Jan and Anna Groothuis Janssen, he was born in Iowa March 2, 1906. He married Dorothy Duel, September 10, 1939, at Mason City. Surviving are his wife; a son, Paul of Belleville; two grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Janssen of Pekin, and two sisters, Ms. Anna Janssen and Mrs. Elizabeth Schneider, both of Pekin.
