Pekin Times December 12, 1925
Mrs. Gretije Johnson Tebben, for many years a resident of this county, died at 
the home of her son, Tebbo Tebben, sout of Pekin, in Cincinatti, township, 
yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, her death being due to chornic bronchitis and 
the infirmities of old age. She was a daughter of John and Wilhelmina Krei and 
was born in Dorne Germany February 18, 1842, Her marriage which was to Tebbo 
Tebben took place 54 years ago. Mr Tebben had resided in this state for 54 
years and after the death of her husband lived for a number of years at 627 
Caroline street, this city (Pekin) Recently when she became ill she was taken 
to the home of her son, Tebbo Tebben. Mrs. Tebben was a member of St. Paul's 
Evangelical Church, a kind hearted charitable christain woman and many friends 
will learn with regret of the passing of this kindly old lady. She is survived 
by the following children: Mrs. John Froehling, Pekin; John Tebben Idaho' Tebbo 
Tebben, Cincinnati Township; William Tebben, Green Valley; Mrs Roland Hyatt 
(Gretije Maria) Pekin. Two children George Tebben and Mrs. Dora Wilkins 
preceded their mother in death. Mrs. Tebben was brought to the Noel funeral 
home and services will be held there, the time to be announced later. Burial 
will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
