Brown departed this life at his home in Mound City Mo., Dec 22, 1889, aged 50 years, 5 months and 6 days, he leaves a widow, to whom he married Nov. 24, 1849 (should be 1859), and 6 children to morn his loss. Bro. Brown was a man of firm convictions, and was a faithful servent of his God, in whose service he inlisted many years ago. He died in the triumph of the living faith. Like Job he could say, "I know that my redeemer livith." The funeral was preached at the Baptist church, by Rev. A.L. Cooper from Rom. 12-12, Rejoicing in hope." Additional Comments: George was the son of John F and Hannah Brown of Tennessee. He married Malinda Ann Bruff in Union County, IL. They moved from Illinois to Missouri about 1885- 86. George is buried in the Old Mound City Cemetery, Mound City, Mo.
