FREDERICK TOPE WILL AND PROBATE RECORDS LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT In the Name of God Amen I Frederick Tope Sr., of the County of Union and State of Illinois, being weak in Body but of sound mind and memory, do make, Ordain, and establish this to be my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all others, and I do hereby appoint Jacob Zimmerman and Elmira Tope my beloved wife to be the Executors, of this my Last Will and Testament. 1st It is my will that all my just debts be paid and that a sufficient of my personal property be sold for that purpose, 2nd After the payments of all my just debts, and funeral expenses, I do here devise and bequeath to my beloved wife the farm and improvements thereon, on which I now live, known as the North East Quarter of the North East Quarter of Section No. Eleven in Township South of Range Two West containing forty acres more or less, the Remainder of my personal estate (property is crossed out and estate written over it), I will and bequeath to my beloved wife. Know Ye that whereas, Frederick Tope, late of the County of Union and state of Illinois, died on or about the 6 day of December A.D. 1842 as it is said, after having duly made and published his Last Will and Testament, a copy whereof is her unto amended, leaving at the time of his death property in this state, which may be lost, destroyed, or diminished in Value, if speedy care be not taken of the same, and in as much as it appears that Jacob Zimmerman and Elmira Tope has been appointed Executors in and by the said last will and Testament to execute the same, and to the end that the said property may be preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal right or intent therein and that said will may be executed according to the request of the said testator, We do hereby authorize them the said Jacob Zimmerman and Elmira Tope as such Executors, to collect and secure all and Singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits which were of the said Frederick Tope at the time of his decease, in whosoever hands as to possession the same may be found in this State and (?) and truly to perform and fulfill all such duties, as may be enjoined upon them, by the said will, so far as there shall be property and the law charges them and in general to do and perform all other acts which now are or hereafter may be required of them by law.
