Work Home Takes Fire In Night,But There Are Only Two Fatalities
Shelbyville,Ill.,Oct.19- The Middles Work Home For Children was destroyed by 
fire today, and although the flames were discovered while the children were 
all asleep,all but two were rescued. The dead are:
Alfred Peteron,9 year old
Charles Peterson,11 year old
There were 32 children sleeping in the upper rooms of the home,which was a 
three story frame and brick building.Flames and smoke cut off escape by the 
hallways, and several children reached the ground by leaping from the upper 
windows to the roof of an extension to the building.The Peterson children were 
overcome by the smoke in their beds.
