Miss Roberts, the Home Economics instructor, was made our class advisor and Marvin Emmerson our President. The first social event of the class was our initiation. Even though we were ridiculed by the upperclassmen, nothing seemed to mar our good time at this party. A few of our members participated in the operetta, "Cherry Blossoms," coached by Mr. Riley. Helen Smith and Peggy Baker were two new students. During the year, Floyd Falconer, Alden May, Melvin Roderick and Ruth Terrell left our class. In May, we left school looking forward to the time when we would come back as Sophomores. When the vacation days reached their end we found that Paul Strauser, Eva Mae Morgan, Peggy Baker, Evan Burgess, and Helen Smith had left us, but to take their places were Ruth DeLong and Orville Bonebrake. Dale Jameson was chosen our President and Miss Drinkwater, the Music instructor, was our class advisor. This year progressed the most quietly of all our high school years. "Ask the Professor", the operetta directed by Miss Drinkwater, was presented. Basket ball interested some of our members, and one, Edward Plotner, was destined to become captain in his senior year. The term ended with a picnic at the Boy Scout Camp. The Junior year was full of excitement, pleasure, worry and work. Miss Cross was chosen our class advisor and Alton Smith our President. Ruth DeLong was forced to leave our class on account of illness and resume her studies in Colorado. Wanda Oehmke also dropped out of the class and attended school in Indiana. Vianna Ennis joined us this year. We assisted in entertaining the Freshmen at a reception. Our Junior Carnival, held during February, heiped to furnish funds for our successful Junior-Senior Banquet. Basket ball attained its height during this year, our team receiving a county trophy for being undefeated in the county competition. It was with downcast spirits that we Juniors, at the Senior graduation, watched them depart and leave us behind to step into their place as leaders of the school. And now that we have come to the finale, we can truthfully say that these years have been filled to the utmost with work, pleasure and excitement. Miss Cross was again chosen our class advisor and Dale Jameson our President. Members of our class were represented in many organizations, including Home Builders' Club, G.A.A., Student Council, Music and Speech. The Senior play, "Hold Everything," was given May 1 and 2. The Junior-Senior Banquet was held May 17, 1936. Baccalaureate services were held at the Methodist Church May 24. The graduation exercises took place May 29. It was held at the High School auditorium, the graduates being adorned in Academic Caps and Gowns. We enjoyed our last all-school picnic on May 29. Now that we have come to the last of our high school life, may the lessons which we have learned in our association with each other never be forgotten and may we all be successful in attaining our future goals as we follow our motto: "Forward Ever, Backward Never."
