She also has taught at the Walters School; Centennial School, south of Rankin; and Peterson School, on the Rossville Road. In the fall of 1943, she started in the Armstrong Grade School where she has taught grades one through six. She has taught mostly in the third and fourth grades since consolidation. Mrs. MILLER was born in Armstrong, the daughter of A. K. and Mabel FRYE. She has two brothers and four sisters. She has resided in the Armstrong community most of her life, except for a few years in South Dakota and Ordway, Colo. They have two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Alice Ann) LESTER of Bosworth, Mo., and Mrs. Richard (Mary Lou) HUCKSTADT of Danville; and six grandchildren. Mrs. MILLER is now teaching some second generations of area families. She said, "I think children today have so much more of a chance to know what is going on all over the country and world. Places and events that used to be almost unbelievable have become quite commonplace through the media of television, automobile travel and picture books." "I hope that besides teaching the things needed in elementary grades, I have been able in instill an appreciation for the good things and for the people who have helped to make them possible. And, they in turn have developed a responsibility to others." Mrs. MILLER is a member of the Armstrong Methodist Church where she serves as assistant church school teacher, financial secretary and treasurer of the church. One of her many hobbies is raising flowers. She was honored at a potluck dinner, sponsored by the PTA. About 300 attended. She was presented an orchard corsage by Robert Keal, school board president, and a floral arrangements and monetary gift from friends.
