WILSON Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wilson of Armstrong announce the engagement of their only daughter Annis to Corporal Richard C. Davies, youngest son of Rev. and Mrs. E. B. Davies of Moweaqua. Corporal Davis [sic] was assistant manager of the Scott, Burr store in Chicago before enlisting in the army air corps last February. MARRIAGE ---------- WEDDING IN METHODIST CHURCH Bridegroom's Father Performed Ceremony At 4 p.m. Sunday In Presence of Guests. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wilson of Armstrong announce the June 6 marriage of their only daughter, Annis E., to Sergeant Richard C. Davies, youngest son of Rev. and Mrs. E. B. Davies of this city. Rev. Mr. Davies performed the ceremony in the Moweaqua Methodist church at 4 p.m. in the presence of seventy-five guests. Miss Hazel Poindexter of Champaign was maid of honor, Corporal Frank I. Davies of Camp Elis was best man and Bernard Davies and Virgil Long were ushers. Music was by Miss Kathryn Day, organist. The church altar and chancel were banked with flowers and lighted with candles and the only other light was from the large electric cross in the church. The bride wore powder blue with rust colored accessories and a shoulder bouquet of sweetpeas and sweetheart roses. The maid of honor was in azure blue with the same flowers. Guests attended from Armstrong, Champaign, Bloomington, and Assumption. A reception followed in the parsonage. MARRIAGE ---------- ARMSTRONG GIRL IS MARRIED TO SERGEANT OF SAN ANTONIO PENFIELD - Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wilson, Armstrong, Ill., announce the marriage of their only daughter Annis and Sgt. Richard C. Davies, Kelley Field, San Antonio, Tex., youngest son of Rev. and Mrs. E. B. Davies, Moweaqua, Ill. The ceremony was performed at 4 p.m. Sunday June 6 in the Methodist Church at Moweaqua, by the bridegroom's father, pastor of the church, in the presence of seventy-five relatives and friends. The church altar and chancel was banked with flowers and lighted with candles. Preceding the ceremony, bridal airs were played at the organ by Miss Kathryn Day. Attending the bridal couple were Miss Hazel Poindexter, Champaign, and Cpl. Frank Davies, Camp Ellis, Ill., brother of the groom. Serving as ushers were another brother, Bernad [sic] Davies, and Virgil Long, Moweaqua, Ill. The bride chose for her wedding a street length blue dress with rust accessories and wore a shoulder bouquet of pink rose buds and sweet peas. The maid of honor, Miss Poindexter, wore blue with yellow accessories and wore a shoulder bouquet of pink carnations. Following the ceremony a reception was given for the bridal party and immediate relatives at the home of Rev. and Mrs. E. B. Davies. The bride was graduated from Armstrong Township High School in 1941 and attended the Illinois State Normal Teacher's College, Normal, Ill., for one year. Since that time she has been employed in Champaign. Sgt.
