She was born June 11, 1960, in Danville, to Harry and Juanita “Brinkman” Englert. She was married to Leon Anderson until 1998. Survivors include: a son, Kyle Anderson; a sister, Susan (Ken Curtis) Spicer; half sisters, Sally (Everett) Powell and Betty Doan, both of Danville, and Nancy Melecosky of Bakerton, Ky.; and half brothers, Harry (Linda) Englert of Catlin and Mark (Joellyn) Hamm of Danville. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a half sister, Meadow Black. Mary attended Oaklawn Grade School, East Park Jr. High and graduated from Danville High School. Mary was a high honor student, graduating a year ahead of her class. She entered the Lakeview School of Nursing, and when she graduated, she was too young to take her State Board for Nursing. After passing her state boards, she started working as an RN at Lakeview Hospital on 4W where she worked for 16 years. Mary was diabetic and her kidneys were failing. She couldn’t work any longer, and in 1997, her sister, Nancy, donated a kidney, which gave Mary 10 more years of life that were full of complications and amputations. Mary’s son, Kyle, was her inspiration to continue fighting the gallant battle. God took her out of the fight at 5:45 a.m. July 7, 2007, and gave her peace and much deserved rest. Graveside services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Spring Hill Cemetery; Officiating: Rev. Jay Sorrell. Mary will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery.
