Obit: MAYOR OF ALVIN DIES AT 85 Cicero Allison 85 , Mayor of Alvin died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday July 5, 1939 at his home. He had milked and had gone into the house to rest on the davenport where he died a few minutes later. Native of Ohio, he was born January 12, 1854, son of Mark and Sarah Allison. With his family he moved to the Alvin Community in 1861. He managed the Grain Elevator for 20 years. Mr Alison was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving besides the widow, Barbara are the following children: John Alison, Alvin; Mrs. Cornelia Roberts, Danville; Dan Alison, State Line; Mrs. May Young, Urbana; Mrs. Emma Howard, Peoria; Mrs. Cordelia Struck, Danville; Mrs. Ada Ingram, Hammond , Ind; Mrs. Ethel Carter, Albuquerque, N. M., and L. C. alison, Westville. There are also 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Last rites were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Alvin Methodist church and the Rev. R. E. Evans conducting the services.
