(Bill) MEITZLER, 53, of 1705 E. Main St., died at 12:20 p.m. Monday (Feb. 3, 1964) in the West Side Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago where he had been a patient three weeks. Born Feb. 26, 1910, at Armstrong, he was a son of Louis W. and Elizabeth SMITH MEITZLER. He attended Armstrong schools and farmed several years in the Armstrong area. He then moved to Danville and was employed by the gas department of Illinois Power Co. for 10 years. In 1961 he moved to Rantoul to manage a motel. He then moved to California last October and returned to Danville when his health failed. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. MEITZLER was married Sept. 3, 1949, in Danville to June L. HILL, who survives. Also surviving are three sisters, Miss Sshter [sic] MEITZLER and Miss Mildred MEITZLER both of Danville and Mrs. Margaret BOYLE of Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 51 and a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Rantoul. He was an ardent sports fan. Hhe [sic] body is at the Pape Memorial Home where friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Paul Kinder officiating. Burial will be in Partlow Cemetery at Armstrong.
