McNEILL Funeral Services for Mrs. Hazel Bailey McNeill, 45, of 1021 Laurel, wife of Lee McNeill, and a former cook at Chanute Field, who died in St. Elizabeth Hospital Tuesday evening were at 2 p.m. Friday at the Atticus H. Brown Funeral Home. Elder Hamilton, Champaign, conducted the rites and burial was in Sanhill Cemetery. MORTON BUTLER Funeral Services for Morton Butler, 75, operator of a harness-making shop, who died Wednesday at his home, 916 N. Hazel St., were at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Berhalter's Funeral Home. The Rev. Mitchell Seidler officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. MRS. LYDIA E. L. WHITE Funeral Services for Mrs. Lydia Emma Louise White, 46, of 1123 Mabin, who died Wednesday evening following a long illness will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. A. C. Bernthal will officiate and burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. The body will remain at the Pape Funeral Home until 2 p.m. Saturday and will be in state at the church preceding the services. Survivors include her husband, Ray White, a son, Donald Ray, at home and three daughters, Mrs. Harold Pickett and Mrs. Howard McMillin, Danville; and Mrs. Dori- Morgan, Seymour, Ind. FRED MEDARIS Funeral Services for Fred Medaris, 73, of 710 N. Vermilion St., retired Danville barber, who died Tuesday in Lake View Hospital were at 10 a. m. Friday at the Barrick & Sullivan Funeral Home. The Rev. A. F. Bremicker officiated and burial was in Springhill Cemetery. DANVILLE COMMERCIAL NEWS published Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1921 ------------------------ WM. J. RICHARDS, PIONEER, IS DEAD Succumbs At Lake-View Hospital, Early Tuesday, Following Operation William J. Richards, 75, died at 1:15 o'clock, Tuesday morning at Lake-View Hospital, following a surgical operation. He had been ill for a long time with a complication of diseases. The deceased was born Sept. 20, 1846, at Sidney, O., and came to Illinois when a young child. He grew to young manhood and enlisted during the civil war, serving three years. On Oct. 19, 1866, he married Cynthia Wright. To this union eight children were born, all surviving except the first born, George Lee, who died at the age of one year. Those surviving are Mrs. Carrie Pattison, Mrs. Morton Butler, Fred and Frank Richards, all of Danville; Charles Richards, Mrs. Roy McLennan and Mrs. Ed Scott, of Terre Haute, Ind. Mr. Richards was a member of the Masonic order, joining lodge No. 38, in Danville, in 1890. The funeral services will be held at the Calvary Baptist church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The pastor, the Rev. Mr. Hertell, in charge. Danville Commercial News Obituaries published November 16, 1921 ------------------------ CHARLES HOUREZ Funeral Services for Charles Hourez, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. Hiliare Hourez of Hillery, were held at the family residence at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery near Hillery. WILLIAM J. RICHARDS The funeral services for William J. Richards, veteran of the civil war and a pioneer printer, will be held at - o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Shiloh Baptist church, in charge of the Masons. Mr. Richards was a member of the Masonic order for over 30 years. He served in Company E and later in Company I of the old 125th Illinois Volunteer infantry. He was a printer for more than 45 years. He was with the Illinois Printing company for more than 20 years and for several years of that period was foreman of the composing room. His wife died 16 years ago. CHARLES HUBER Charles Huber, Jr., infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huber, 1022 Cleveland street, born at Lake-View hospital Sunday night, died there at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The body was taken to the Noone & Co. undertaking parlors and prepared for burial. Short services were held there at 4 o'clock. Burial at Atherton cemetery. Danville Commercial News published December 12, 1959 ------------------------ Mrs. Butler Dies at 88 in Hospital Mrs. Bertha Lois (Grandma) Butler, 88, of 524 N. Walnut St., widow of a noted harness maker in the Danville area, died at 12:30 a. m. Saturday (Dec. 12, 1959) at Lakeview Memorial Hospital where she was admitted Friday. Her husband, Morton, operated the Butler Harness Shop until he died in 1946. Born Jan. 29, 1871, in Champaign County, she was the daughter of William and Cynthia Wright Richards and lived in the Danville area since early childhood. Survivors include three sons, Sidney of Danville, Walter R. of Chebanese, Ill., and Orville W. of Long Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. H. D. Williams, with whom she made her home; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Scott of West Sacramento, Calif., a brother, Fred Richards of Danville, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Others preceding her in death included two sons, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Butler, very active as a member of the Calvary Baptist Church until a year ago, was a fancier of flowers, many of which she was noted for raising. The body is at the Barrick & Sons Funeral Home for services at 3 p. m. Monday conducted by Dr. F. W. McKnight and burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p. m. Sunday. CAR VICTIM Quincy, Ill. (AP) - Mrs. Anna Bailey, 46, of Liberty, was killed Friday in a collision of two cars at a Quincy intersection. Driver of the other automobile, Kenneth Ward, 24, of Quincy, was hospitalized for treatment of back injuries. Monday for Miss Ursula Menig, former Danville resident, who died Thursday at her home in Chicago. The Rev. Paul Kinder will officiate, the Berhalter Funeral Home in charge. RICHARDS DEAD Mother of Mrs. Morton Butler Will Be Buried Thursday. The body of Mrs. William J. Richards, who died at Marshall Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock arrived in Danville Wednesday afternoon. It was taken to the home of Morton Butler on the Georgetown road, south of the city. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning from that home.
