Obit: Floyd Strawser Danville Floyd Geroge Strawser Sr., 77, of Danville died at 6:55 P. M. Friday (Dec. 5, 1997) at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville. Funeral services will be at 1 P. M. Monday at Pape Memorial Home and Gardens, 10 E. Williams St. Danville. The Rev. Michael Stipp will officiate. Burial will be in the Atherton Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be from 11 A. M. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Strawser was born Dec. 5, 1920 at Danville, a son of Fred and Daisy Mae Gordon Strawser. He married Murriena Owen on May 14, 1939 at Danville. She survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Shirley Bostwick, Linda Roseman, Paulette Norwell and Mary Contreras all of Danville, and Ruth Miller of Godfrey; a son, Floyd Strawser Jr. of Danville; 17 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren and two great-great-granchildren; and two brothers, Fred Strawser Jr. and Robert Strawser , both of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, two brothers, a grandson, a great grandson and a son-in-law. Mr. Strawser was a member of the United Auto Workers and retired from General Motors after 25 years of service.
