OBIT: MOTHER OF J. T. DAVIS DIES TUESDAY Mrs. J. A. Davis, 82, mother to James T. Davis of Rossville, died suddenly at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Mar. 4, 1941 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Nettie Sager in Hoopeston. Death was caused by a heart attack. Mrs. Davis was born near Eugene Indiana November 15, 1858 the daughter of Levi and Mary Ann Davis Gephart. She was married to John A. Davis in 1878 who preceded her in death May 27, 1913. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Sager and Mrs. George Liggett of Hoopeston and Mrs. Davis of near Rossville. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Church of Christ and of the Loyal Women's Bible Class of that church. She was also a member of the Prairie Rebekah Lodge of Hoopeston. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Today (Thursday) in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Hoopeston, the Rev. Kent M. Dale, officiating.
