He had worked in the mines for about two years, and was a native of Russia. He had lighted the shot and waited for some time, and not hearing the shot go off concluded that it had gone out, and returned for the purpose of relighting it when he got within a few feet of the shot it went off, killing him almost instantly. Deceased lived at Grape Creek.
