Fifteenth Annual Report of the State Bureau of Labor Statistics, 1896
January 26, 1896, James Lynch, aged 16 years, single, committed suicide by jumping 
down Muncie coal shaft. The deceased was sometimes employed as fireman at the 
boilers of the shaft. He left a note stating his intentions.
