obit: JUDY RITES CONDUCTED SUNDAY Mrs. Laura Judy, 71 , pioneer resident of Vermilion county, passed away at 2:00 am Thursday March 6, 1941 at the home of her son, Harven Judy in Tilton. Death followed several weeks illness of complications. Mrs. Judy was born September 26, 1869 in Potomac daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Moss Wise and lived in Vermilion county her entire life. Surviving are thee sons, Rudolph Judy and Herschel Judy of Tilton; one brother, Elmer Wise of Champaign,, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Perry Judy, a prominent retired farmer who died in April 1929 and a daughter Nellie who died at the age of 8 years. Mrs. Judy resided in Rossville until three years ago and since that time has made her home with her children. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday ain the Rossville Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. A. H. Flagge of Gibson City and the Rev. E. A. Houldridge. Mrs. Roy Mitchell and Mrs. Elmer Peterson sang three numbers, "going down the Valley", " God Will Take care of You: and : Sometime We'll Understand" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Clifford Hertenstein. Flowers were in charge of grandchildren, Curtis Judy, Ray Judy, Harold Judy, Eloise Judy, June Judy, and Mrs. Donald Claypool. Pallbearers were T. J. Reynolds, Harvey Young, Edward Blair, William Moyer, Elmer Moreland and Charles Blackford.
