OBIT: Mrs. Olis Gordon Mrs. Olis P. Gordon 74, 624 Commercial died at 2:20 a.m. today, June 14, 1984 at Saint Elizabeth Hospital. She had been a patient since June 8 and ill for five years. She retired as an assembler at the General Electric Company in 1967, a member of the First Baptist Church and Dan Gee Club. She enjoyed photography, flower gardening and writing. Born Nov. 19, 1909 in Palestine West Virginia, daughter of William and Mary Parsons Parsons. She married William Gordon who died in 1952. surviviors include five daughters , Mrs. Virgiinia Leigh, Mrs. Olis Sison, Mrs. (Thurman) Flora Valkenburg, Mrs.( Larry) Dorothy VanKamp all of Danville, Mrs.( James) Elsie, Ponder, St Petersburg , Fla., a sister Mrs. Thelma Thorn of Palestine. 24 Grandchildren and 35 great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William, a stepson, William Parsons Jr. , a sister and three brothers. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sturday at Barrick and Son Funeral Home. Burial in Atherton Cemetery.
