OBIT: DEATH CLAIMS AGED RESIDENT OF BISMARCK VICINITY AT SON'S HOME IN HOOPESTON Mrs. Sarah McCormick Bismarck----Resident of Bismarck vicinity for many years, Mrs. Sarah Ruth McCormick, 84, died at 11 : 00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1942 at the home of a son, James R. McCormick in Hoopeston. Born April 21, 1857 , at Bismarck, she was the daughter of William S. and Naomi Claypool Ogdon who came to this community from Kentucky in 1850 . She moved with her parents to Missouri and for a time lived near Painesville where she was married to James M. McCormick. They then moved to near Bismarck where they spent the rest of their life. Mrs. McCormick was a member of Bismarck Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. C. A. E. Sheets of Hoopeston and Mrs. Stanley Matthews, east of Bismarck; and five sons, Water of Ambia, Ind. ,Frank of Potomac, Ross of Vienna Illinois, James R.. of Hoopeston and John of Danville. Her husband and a daughter preceded her in death in 1940. The body was taken Thursday to the home of a daughter Mrs. Stanley Matthews of Bismarck where it will remain until services at 2p.m. Friday at Church of Christ in Bismarck with the Rev. Grover Moss officiating.
