MARRIAGE: SOLEMNIZE MARRIAGE MONDAY EVENING Before an improvised alar of palms, ferns, gladioli and lighted candelabra in the chapel of the W. L. Freese home, Miss Marjorie Parker, daughter of Mrs. Alma parker, Rossville and Vern. E. Rutan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kennneth Rutan, Bismarck pledged their troth at 8:00 p.m. Monday August 14, 1939. The single ring service was read by Rev. Paul D. Magnuson in the presence of a few close relatives and friends. Preceding the ceremony, Miss Margaret Foster sang "I Love You Truly", accompanied at the piano by Mrs. W. L. Freese. To the strains of the wedding March from Lohengrin, the bridal party entered the room led by the ring bearer, Barbara Parker, sister of the bride., who was dressed in white silk and carried the ring in a white lily. The bride and her maid of honor, Miss Faye Ritter, were met at the altar by Mr. Rutan and his best man, Clarence Carter of Bismarck. The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. J. B. Ritter, was lovely in a street length dress of blue lace over blue taffeta with accessories to match. Her flowers were a shoulder corsage of sweet heart roses and delphinium. Miss Ritter wore a gown of dusty pink with matching accessories. Her corsage was of roses and sweet peas. Mrs. Parker wore a costume of rose beige alpaca with a corsage of sweet peas and yellow rosebuds. A reception was held at the home of the bride's mother immediately following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Rutan are at home to their friends in an apartment at 206 Gilbert Street.
