Obituary of Eliza Susan CARSON, Washington County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Robert Middleton ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obituary Miss Eliza Susan Carson passed from this life June 25, 1895 at 5 o'clock and 25 min. P.M. aged 30 years 10 months and 26 days. At the home of her parent, Daniel A. Carson. Deceased was born Aug. 29th 1864 near Elkton, Todd County, Kentucky where she lived until the age of 7. Removing from there to Ashley, Ill. Sept. 1871 where she lived until the time of her death. She professed faith in Christ and united with the Church of Christ May 25th 1887 and was baptized by Eld. J. D. Morgan. Since living a consistant Christian life, making many friends to cherish her memory. She was taken sick July 8th, 1894 from which time she endured continual suffering near 12 months with Christian patience and fortitude until released by death. How fitting are the words of Paul, "For in this we groan earnestly desiring to be clothed with our house which is from Heaven." 11 Cor. 5:2 Death comes a welcome guest to those who enter Jesus' rest. Many friends mourn their loss but most piercing comes the grief to those who know her best and loved her most. Father, two brothers and two sisters feel the great loss. The mother and sisters have gone before. The bereaved ones have the sympathy and prayers of many friends. The funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church by Eld. Henry S. Lindsey at 3 o'clock P.M. June 26th, 1895.
